Calendar view problem

The calendar view seems corrupt for one of my outlook 2000 users.

When I try to resolve the issue by right clicking on the calendar:
under general
\ when posting to this folder it should be appointment but it says
post ,and it will not let me change it to appointment.

Any ideas

What version of Outlook and is this with an Exchange server? What version
for Exchange?

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
