I was trying to mailmerge some info from a form to a Word doc coz the form
includes info from various tables including a Lookup column. Can I mailmerge
a form to a Word doc as I normally do for a table? Thanks.

kul,

Not from the form but from the forms RecordSource. Have a look at *Super
Easy Word Merge* about half way down the page...

Hi Gina,

Thanks for your message. However, it seems difficult. Can you explain about
it further? Appreciate it.

kul,

You're going to have to be more specific... Explain further about what?
Have you never worked with modules before?

Did you somehow fail to read Albert's explanation of how to use it? You
might want to start there. I mean, since he wrote it, he undoubtedly knows
better how to use it than anyone else... Can't quite understand how you can
read this and not that... but whatever.

Hi Gina,

Yes, it's my first time working with the modules. Everything over there is
very new to me. I tried to follow the one line code instruction, but I'm not
sure what to do next and if I've got it right. Please help. Thanks.

I can't see where you are or what step you go stuck at... so you will have
to tell me what part you are up to.

Hmm, I'm sorry that I really don't know how to start. But I was trying to
look for any kind of tutorials for the modules. Didn't succeed. Is there
anything I can read so that I can start working on the modules? I simply have
no idea what to do after adding a button/ icon to merge with Word. I went to
the Property Sheet and clicked onto "Code Builder" under the tab "Event" and
"Event Procedure". I tried to copy and paste what was mentioned at the
article you've recommended, but I don't know what's next. Please help. Thanks.

Step 1 import modules and forms into your database. Have you done that?

I guess I have got the form done based on the database (Table). However, how
can I import the modules? Please show me. Thanks a lot.

You open the database and then select File... Get External Data... Import...
navigate to the database and select the Modules tab, and select the Modules
to import...

I'm sorry. I'm afraid I'm lost. I have opened the database (table) but I have
no idea what modules should I import. I have a Word doc and would like to
mail merge the info at the form to it. Do you mean I have to import the Word
doc? However, there is no option for that. I'm sorry that I have no idea what
Modules should I work on. My experience with the mail merge is having a
database (table) and export (mail merge) it to a Word or Excel file. Thanks
for your patience.

kul,

Before we go any further... Have you gotten the sample to work?

Hi Gina,

Yes, I've got 2 separate tables: one of them is carrying individual names,
with a lookup column with the retiring home if they are residing at a
retiring home. The other table is carrying addresses. To avoid typo error, I
have created 2 separate tables, since some of the individuals are staying at
the same place, eg. a retiring home. From there, I have created a form to
put/ show things together, so that when I look up for a retiring home, I can
see right away who is/are living there. And now, I'd like to mail merge the
names and the address to a Word document. Let's say, if I am sending an
invitation letter to the individuals, I'd like to do a mail merge for the
records. It would be even nicer if I can do a mail merge for some of them who
live in the same retiring home, receive one letter addressing to them at the
same time.

Since a form can't be mail merged to a Word document, it seems that I have
to work on the coding. When I click onto the far right button at "On Current"
under tha Event tab at the Property Sheet, it goes straight to Microsoft
Visual Basic. I have no experience over there in working with the Modules.
I'm stuck. Thanks Gina for your help.
