Open Office is a useful starter edition for an Office application. I would
also recommend downloading Thunderbird for your email and Sunbird as well.
They can be found from links on mozilla.org, which provides a nice web
browser, also open source.
Once you have your business up and running (and, hopefully, profitable) you
may find the Microsoft Office and adjunct offerings better suited to your
advanced needs. However, Open Office provides the basic functions required
to get a business up and running, especially when there are limited funds
available and every cent must go into increasing the business, not upgrading
the backend. That will come soon enough.
I wish you well in your business endeavors... and hope that Microsoft will
be able to offer value added additions to your business once it has achieved
a reliable and profitable user base.
