Can I install "some" Office 2000 components onto existing Office installation

E

Ern...

Gerry and Milly,

Thanks very much for your info. I'll do as you say -- uninstall
existing Word and Works, reboot, then install my Office 2000 suite.
Sounds clean and simple. No worries anyway, I have a disk image (using
Powerquest Drive Image) of my current configuration if anything goes
wrong.

Thanks again.

Ern...

Hi again, Milly. Since you're in a talkative mood....... just one more
question!! Sorry.

As I said in my previous message I've got Works 6.0 and Word 2000 on my
Dell. I want to add Excel, PPT, and Access 2000. You said to
uninstall Word 2000, reboot, then install the 4 item 2000 suite. Fine.

Question: in my Add/Remove area, I can uninstall Word 2000, BUT there's
also an item called "MS Works Suite Add-In for MS Word." (perhaps this
is why Word shows up as a selection item in my Works menu) Should I
uninstall this too???

I don't think I'll uninstall Works 6.0 at all -- just leave it as is.
It shouldn't be a factor.

Final comments? After this, I'll leave you alone! Thanks.
