Can I load Publisher 97 onto Windows XP?

I am unable to load Publisher 97 onto my computer since installing Windows
XP. Is it possible to do so or must I purchase a more recent copy? Thanks.

Publisher 97 will install on Windows XP. The only caveat would be to disable any
anti-virus program before you do the installation.

If a you try to install Publisher to a standalone computer that has resident virus
protection software installed, you may receive the following message at the end of
the setup:

" Installation could not be completed, please check the available Hard Drive space
or there is an error in updating a file."

This is due to the bootstrapper (Setup.exe) trying to write to an area protected by
the resident virus protection software

To successfully install Publisher, exit the virus protection program and then rerun
Setup.

Good, Publisher 97 was my favorite version of Publisher until 2003. It had a lot of
nifty features, for instance you could start a calendar on Monday with the calendar
wizard...Thanks for posting your success, it is appreciated.
