Can i set up a recurring task with a reoccurance pattern over 1 ye

I am trying to show a recurring milestone, with a 3 year period between each
milestone date (the milestone is a local election).

Can i do this or is the maximum period 1 year?

The max is one year. If it's any consolation, it couldn't be a major task
to enter those individually - after all how many 3 year intervals could your
project span? Even a 10 year plan - and that's a really long detailed
plan - would only require you to enter three milestones while a 25 year
program would only require 8. Since projects typically have dozens,
hundreds, or even thousands of tasks, how much added work could it be to
enter 8 more <grin>? If the schedule started today, it would only be 15 of
those milestones before you run up against the maximum date limit possible
in Project (31 Dec 2049).
