Can I use Office 2000 on Windows XP?

I am upgrading my laptop and it comes with WindowsXP Home Edition installed.
I have Office 2000 that I would like to install on the new laptop. Can I do
this or do I need Office XP?

Office 2000 works fine with Win XP.

Just to add,
May be best to install your Office 2000 version on Windows XP without
service packs, if possible. Install Office, update, then apply service packs
to Windows XP.
