Can not open messages

I have recently installed Office 2003 to evaluate and test in our corporate enviornment. I am connecting Outlook to an Exchange 2000 server. Problem is I can see the messages in my mailbox but I can not open them or view them in the Reading Pane. I have another computer next to this one with an installation and I can read. I can not see a difference in the setup or installation of Office or the mail client in Outlook?
