can Office 2000 be converted to use with xp?

I am running Office 2000 on my Dell with ME as the O/S. I have a new pc with
XP as the O/S. Do I have to purchase Office XP or can I convert Office 2000
with a service patch? Thank you

Just install Office 2000. No special patches required for XP.

If you bought a retail copy of Office, simply uninstall from the old
computer, and then install it on the new one.

If you are saying that you want Office XP, you can't patch it up to that
version. If your Office 2000 came with your old computer, then you need to
purchase the full program. If you purchased it separately, then you just
need the upgrade.
