can office 97-Pro ED-Academic Ed-be downloaded to XP-Home ED?

we use microsoft access for a database for obituaries for a small museum with
Microsoft 98----the access is in Microsoft Office 97--Professional
Edition-Academic Edition that we bought for the museum. Now we have a new PC
with XP-Home Edition in it. Can we download the old Office 97 into XP, so we
will be able to tranfer all our database for the obituaries from 98 to XP?

If you have the original CD and it is a retail version not OEM (did not come
with the old PC), then you can legally install it on the new PC and it will
run.
You cannot copy it from one PC to another; it has to be installed
