Hi.......as a newby,forgive the ignorance but I ask the question
anyhow........... Is it possible to write a Word macro that will
gather data from another application and open a Word template, placing
that data into the Word document ? If it is possible, is it easy to
write the macro.......any pointers to web sites that offer guidance ?

Partly the answer depends on what the other application is, and how it makes
its data available (if at all). Here are a couple of articles that discuss
