Can you add pictures eg signitures to Mail merge documents?

I want to create a mail merge document that includes signitures saved as
..jpegs of the person sending the letter. Is this possible? How do you assign
these to the mail merge word document? And how do you get this to correspond
to the names in the excel data source file?
