Cannot Believe the Problems with Office Updates

I just installed Office 2003 Pro with BCM and the installation proceeded
without incident. Then, as instructed, I went to the Office Update site and
it told me I needed a number of updates, which I agreed to download and
install. That is when all my problems ocurrred.

Firstly, if I try highlighting a mail folder in Outlook, the Program would
freeze, and then the error message would appear saying "Sorry, but there was
a problem with BCM... Send Report?", and that happened with every attempt
to highlight a Folder.

Then, I received a message that my Wireless was hosed, and that I needed to
run setup again. What?? So, I uninstalled Office 2003 and tried
re-installing it. So far... so good... but now, when I go to the Office
Update page, I receive the message that I am using an unsupported Browser,
and then if that doesn't beat all... I receive another message saying
"Sorry, but Office Update does not support Office for the Mac". What???

What is going with Microsoft... that their very own 'latest' Browser is not
even being recognized, and how does Office Update feel I have a Mac instead
of a PC?
