Cannot create outline.

I am taking online course of MACROS in EXCEL. I am creating MACROS in Excel
sheet. In the guide is mentioned:" Highligth area and push Ctrl+*. But after
this message apears on my screen: "Cannot create outline". I have checked
regular help in MS but It didn't help me.

CRTL + 8(not *) is the shortcut key-combo for toggling outline symbols on/off.

You must have an outline created before you can show the symbols.

See Help on "outline".

What exactly are you expecting to achieve with CRTL + *
