Cannot Install Office XP SP3

In attempting to install OfficeXP SP3, I get the
message "Cannot find expected version" (or something very
similar) and then bailed. I recently installed the
upgrade to Office Professional Edition 2003 and have
experienced various wierd behaviors, so I hoped the
update would correct the problem.
