Cannot open attached Word documents from Outlook

I get the no file association error when trying to open a
Word document that is attached to an email. I have checked
and the association is there, I can open them form Windows
Explorer.

Does any one have any ideas

Using Outlook 2000 (not sure of service poack level) CW
Mode on Windows 2000 Pro SP4.
