cannot open file error

Hi,

In the past 2 weeks, 2 different publisher web page files have rec'd the
message 'cannot open file'

Both were created with Publisher 2003

The first we were able to open in publisher 98. But not all the pages.

The second we were not able to open at all.

These files are saved on a network, along with many other website files.

Not sure what other info might be needed.

Plese let me know if anyone has any ides why this may be happening.

Copy the file to your local hard drive and try to open it again.

Mary,

I have tried copying the file to my hard drive, and still the same message.

Virus software on my computer is Symantec AntiVirus, which is not addressed
at the link you mentioned. However the latest update was yesterday.

We have tried to open this file on a number of computers on the network and
it will not open.

I read somewhere that changing a background incorrectly might cause a
problem with opening the file again...have you heard of that?

Norton and Symantec are one of the same. Open Symantec, in the Misc. menu,
uncheck Office Plug-in.

Disable your printer and then try opening the file, or if you have no printer
enabled, enable one.
