I created an excel file on a mac. I had the file e-mailed
to me and am now on a pc. The file contains the data I
that I input...along with hindreds of symbols making it
impossible to read. How do I restore it to it's original
state?
Thank you.

How was it e-mailed to you? Has it been Stuffed (it's
often a default option in mailers on the Mac)? If it has
been, you'll have to un stuffit first (download the free
Stuffit Expander from http://www.aladdinsys.com/ first)

If it has not been, make sure the name of the file has
a ".xls" extension. How does the file open (I mean does it
open in Excel or in a text editor) when you double-click
the icon?
