Cannot open PPT

Hi,

working on Office XP with Office 2000 Standard, since 2
months I cannot start a new powerpoint presentation. I
tried removing Office Standard 2000 and adding, restored
the system 2 months back but its still not starting. The
screen remains blanc. I can open older PPT's. What can I
do?

So basically, PPT will start if you double-click an existing PPT file, is
that correct? What exactly do you see when you open PPT? How are you trying
to start a new presentation, and what's happening (what do you see) when you
do so?
