Cannot Open Word Doc's

Fairly new user to Word and after having no problems for 3
months or so, I am now unable to open any of my saved Word
docs. I can open word and create a new doc, but as soon as
I save it and then close it, it then becomes unavailable.
Also whenever I close Word I am being asked to accept
changes to the Global template, which I have never
knowingly edited. Any suggestions would be welcome.

To solve the Global template problem, you try this, go to Tools > Options >
Save (tab), under the "Save Options" heading check to see if "Prompt to save
Normal template", if its checked uncheck it.

Concerning opening documents, are they just not appearing when you click on
them in Open window?

No, a pop up comes up and states that file is not
available.

Before you launch in and automatically save changes to the global template,
you need to check what those changes are. Normal.dot shouldn't be getting
changed every time you use Word; the problem you have might well be a virus,
of which the changes to normal.dot and the unavailability of your saved
documents are symptoms.
