cannot receive or send from 2 different service account

I tried to install Exchange Service and a POP3 account in Outlook 2003. If
Exchange is the default mail service, i will receive internal email from the
Exhange organisation but the external mail wil get stuck. If the POP3 account
is the default mail service, then i will not be able to send or receive mail
from or to the organisation.
