cannot see picture

Very new to Publisher. When I insert a picture into a publication, I can
only see a blank box, not the picture itself. However the picture will print
out just fine. How do I get to view the picture while editing the
publication? Thanks for any help.

1. Check Menu View/Pictures & Detailed Display is ON.
If this doesn't fix, then
2. Try reducing "Hardware Acceleration" of your Video Card
Right click on desktop & select properties
Settings tab - Advanced button
Troubleshoot tab - Move slider from Full to None, Click OK then OK
again.
If step 2 fixes the problem, then you need to update the driver for
your video display card. Go to the web site of the manufacturer to get
this
Hope this helps

Thank you. It was the Hardware acceleration. Will it hurt anything if I just
turn it off while working in Publisher? My computer is working great and I
am a little leary about trying to update the video drivers. Thanks a lot.

No, it was the video drivers. The hardware acceleration is just a
troubleshooting tool that lets you know that the video driver is almost
certainly the problem.

No, but you'll have to reboot each time, and applications that rely on
Direct3D will not work.

Your computer is not working great, as it is refusing to run Publisher
properly. Upgrading to the latest video drivers following the creation of a
system restore point is the recommended course of action.

OK, I took the plunge. Updated video drivers. Everything went smoothly and
Publisher works fine. Thanks for the help.
