Cannot Send Email

I am using Outlook 2002 with Windows XP. All of a sudden,
I am unable to send email from the program. I can
retrieve email that is up on my internet provider's POP
server but cannot send email. Is there something that I
can do to correct this problem?

Check your account settings

Tools-> E-mail Accounts...-> button Next-> select the appropriate account->
button Change-> button More Settings...-> tab Outgoing Server->
check/uncheck option My outgoing server SMTP requires authentication.

Hope this helps!

I just went through a nightmare with a similar problem. I could neither send
nor receive mail. Everything was stuck in the Outbox. It turned out that the
problem was Norton Antivirus. It has somehow loaded in such a way that it
interfered with Outlook ... I was able to get rid of the problem by
disabling NAV, then re-enabling.
