Cannot send emails

I just wanted to know if i am doing something wrong?
Each time i send a message from Outlook to a recipient,
they either never receive the message or it takes them 5
hours to get it. Is there a setting that needs to be
adjusted for everyone to receive my emails that i send
one to? Please help

What version of Outlook? Do you have an Exchange server? Are you
connecting to an ISP? Does this only happen with one particular recipient
or with any recipient?
