Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window.

Last week my laptop automatically installed 14 various Microsoft updates.
When I try to launch Outlook 2007 since the update, I get the following error
message: Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window.

I have uninstalled all but two of the updates. The two updates that I do
not see an uninstall option for are Microsoft Office 2007 Service Pack 2
(SP2) and Update for 2007 Microsoft Office System (KB967642).

I looked at the documentation for one of the Outlook 2007 updates that was
installed/uninstalled - KB969907. It talks about updating internal data
structures in .pst files. About 30 days ago I imported into Outlook 2007
several .pst files from a different computer running Outlook 2000. Outlook
on my laptop had been running perfectly before the updates.

Help!

Tried start Outlook with the /resetnavpane switch already?
Start-> Run; outlook.exe /resetnavpane

Yes, that worked! Is this an early warning of some type or is having to do
this nothing to worry about? Is it OK to reinstall the Microsoft updates?

If Outlook is giving you this issue on a regular basis, then it is something
to worry about. Usually means that you have issues with Outlook closing
properly;
http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/outlookdoesntclose.htm

There was 1 update I believe that in some specific scenarios caused this
issue to appear due to an corruption in the Navigation Pane that was there
even before the update.

You really should install the updates again. You might experience the issue
one more time directly after that. Post back if it happens continuously now
and the troubleshooting steps in the link posted above don't help.

I started getting this error yesterday after installing SP2 on Vista Ultimate
x64.
Ran outlook.exe /resetnavpane, which repaired the issue, but just crashed
out of Outlook in the middle of an email. This is definately an SP2 issue.
