Cannot use Outlook Contacts with my MSN account

I moved my web based MSN account to Outlook and can receive email. I can
send email if I type in the address or reply to a message. However, if I use
the email address from my contacts - it seems as if the message is sent but
it doesnot go out because the person never receives it. Help.
