Can't change project start date in Project 2003

Hi,
I have MS Project Professional 2003 on one computer and Project 2002 on
another. For some reason I can't change my project's start date in Project
2003 (from 1/1/2001 to 1/1/2005) but I can do it without any problems when
using 2002 version (on the exact same file). In the 2003 version, when I go
to Project->Project Information and change the start date, absolutely nothing
happens (all the tasks still show the old start dates). Also, there are no
constraints in the project. When I go to Adjust Dates it tells me that the
old start date is 1/1/2005 but it's not showing in my Gantt chart -- it's
still showing 1/1/2001. But I have no such problems working with the same
file when I use the 2002 version.

Do you think it's possible that my 2003 installation is corrupted and if so,
would reinstalling MS Project help? I'm at a complete loss at this point so
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hmmm... Check to see if there are any actual start or actual finish dates on
any of the tasks.

No, the tasks are not constrained in any way (other than the predecessor
relationships) and they are supposed to start as soon as possible. Plus if
there were any actual dates attached to the tasks, I wouldn't be able to
modify the project start date in 2002 either. It is really weird and quite
puzzling :(
