can't drag gantt bars along time axis!

does anybody know why some of my gantt bars cannot be dragged along the
time axis (some can others can't)?

Hi project newby,

You should not be dragging bars around in the Gantt chart unless you
wish to set constraints on the tasks.

As you are a self-described newby I suggest taking a look at Mike Glen's
excellent series of articles on MS Project. Mike does a great job
getting you jump started down the correct path. Mike's tutorials can be
