Can't Find 511735.MAINSP1op.msp

J

Jim Alexander

Office 2003 Pro SP1, running on Windows XP Pro. All patches and updates in
place.

I recently imaged my old hard drive to a new larger one; the old one was
then removed. Office 2003 Professional apps now work fine on the new drive,
with one exception.

When trying to open any one of the Office apps, such as Word or Excel, (but
not Front Page or Publisher, which were originally installed separately on
the old HD) before it opens, the Windows Installer

screen pops up, saying it is Preparing to Install. Then another screen
appears: Microsoft Office

Word 11.0 - An error occurred and this feature is no longer functioning
properly. Please run Setup

and select "Repair..." to restore this application.

Click OK, and Word opens up and seems to function normally.

But if I insert the Office Professional Edition 2003 CD Upgrade CD from
which I originally did the

upgrade/install, first thing nothing happens (nothing autoruns), then the
Windows Explorer opens up,

showing all the files on the CD. If I then hit Setup.exe, the Windows
Installer advises that the feature

is on a network resource that is unavailable, and to either try again or
enter an alternate path to a

folder containing the installation package 511735.MAINSP1op.msp in
C:\Program

Files\OfficeUpdate11\Cabs\511734\. I am unable to locate any such folder
or file, after searching

the hard drive for it. There was never any network involved. It wasn't on
the old hard drive either.

I've tried running Detect and Repair, and the same issue presents itself. I
tried running Update from within Word, and same issue.

QUESTION: Is something really missing, or how can I make this Installer
popup go away? Thanks very much.

Same here.
I did find the 511735 in the registry under updates.
Only the upgraded hard drive computer registry settings are the same as
my other functioning computer.
Also MS Outlook has failed.
My next step is to attempt a complete uninstall.
Any word on the fix???

Hi all,

Yet again another one. I too am having this same problem, and it seems like
there isn't a fix for it posted anywhere.

This problem happened, I believe, after I "cleaned up" a few folders in my
HD using one of those free space-finder tools. Looks like I must have deleted
something I shouldn't...

Please let me know if you gyus find anything on how to get rid of this.

Thanks,

JD
