Can't Find Outlook Data

My computer conked out, but the hard drive (fortunately) is fine. I have it
loaded on my other computer as an E: drive, and I am trying to locate the
email data to import it on this machine. It was Outlook XP on a Windows XP
machine.

I did NOT save it as a PST file, and a search for any PST files on this hard
drive turned up nothing.

Where is this data located?

Outlook (and not Outlook Express) uses PST/OST files to store your messages
and other personal information. In almost all cases, you shall be able to
find the .pst-s, so this is quite strange. Are you sure it is not OE?

Turn on searching hidden files. When you locate the .pst file (and if you
mean to keep your old drive installed as a slave), note the location. In
Outlook, use File->Open->Outlook Data File and point it to your old
location. NEVER import a native Outlook file.

After furious head scratching, Larry R Harrison Jr asked:

| Yes, I am POSITIVE that it is Outlook. I did my email in Outlook XP.

Why should I never "import" a native Outlook data file?

(PS--the hard drive with those files failed AFTER you gave me these
tips--darn--fortunately, I had 2 HDs and that was the "small" one and the
other one still works--further, I had about a month ago made a PST file and
burned it onto DVD+R, successfully recovered it from there)

Importing loses important items in Outlook, like custom forms, connections
between contacts and activities, birthdays and anniversaries in the
calendar, received dates on email, etc. The list is very long.
