Can't I open Excel files by double click

Hi to all.
I update my office to Office 2000 SP-3, I try to re-install de Office.
I try whit Help, Detect and Repair.I try with right-click the file and
select Open with,
and set Always use this program.

What can I more try.

I found the solution in other exposition.
Tools/Options/General un-check Ignore other applications.
