Can't load Frontpage 2002 upgrade

P

PaulT

I had this program installed in my system before. It seems I used it to
upgrade a MS Office 2000 Standard program I had installed in my computer. I
used it for quite some time on my website. I was using Millenium, I believe
when I first installed it, but I upgraded to XP Pro, along with Office XP Pro.

I continued to use Frontpage 2002 in my system until I rebuilt my computer.
I put in a whole different motherboard and when I did this, I had to reload
XP because the new computer was not recognized. It overwrote a lot of my
stuff. And now I cannot reload this Frontpage 2002 Upgrade because it says
it does not recognize a qualifying product.

Now what? Any ideas or is this money down the tube?

Without a prior full version as a qualfying product, the upgrade cannot be
loaded. Some people suggest buying an older copy of FP from ebay, but that,
too, could run into problems.

Thank you very much for your response.

I wonder about uninstalling my Office XP Pro and reloading the 2000 Standard
program, then reloading the Frontpage 2000. It seems to me that it should
work that way and I could reinstall Office SP Pro again. What do you think
about that?

"... then reloading the FrontPage 2000"

If you have the FP2000 CD, then that is the qualifying product FrontPage
2002 is looking for.

Then how will you reload FP2000? - it is not on the Office 2000 Standard CD
(it is on Office 2000 Premium)

Ah, Office 2000 Standard. It does not come with FrontPage. You need a
previous version of FP.
