Can't move, delete or archive email

Last year upgraded Windows from 98 to XP. Outlook was
already XP/2002, not changed. Any email received prior to
the upgrade cannot be moved, deleted or archived. I need
to clean up my email but nothing is working.
Suggestions??

Well, since you neglected to say what you've tried, I can only guess.

What I'd do is COPY (not move) the messages from the old Personal Folders
file into a new one (File>New>Outlook Data File>Personal Folders File), make
that new pst file the default delivery file, and close the old one.
Alternatively, try making a new profile. Some have reported good luck in
fixing problems that way. A third choice would be to use "Repair" in
Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs
