Can't open archive.pst file

O

Outlooking

I can't open an archive.pst file with MS Outlook 2000. I get the message
"Properties for this information service must be defined prior to use" Then
when I click OK, another message pops up "The file c:\archive.pst is not
compatible with this version of the personal information service. Contact
your administrator. I have tried all of the help contents but can not get it
open. Thanks

..pst files must be read/write in order to open - if the file is on a CD,
copy it to your hard drive and remove the read-only check from its
properties.

If this .pst file was created with Outlook 2003 in unicode format, you will
need to use Outlook 2003 to create a new .pst file in 97-2002 format (ansi)
and drag your information from the Outlook 2003 .pst to the new one you
created in Outlook 97-2002 format. You can use this one in previous
versions.

After furious head scratching, Outlooking asked:
