Cant open file in publisher 2003

I just installed publisher 2003 and SP2. I created a 2 page web page and
saved it. When I went to open it, I got the message, CANT FIND PATH TO FILE.
The file is listed in the open dialog box. The help message said it could
be due to virus protection. I tried disabling virus protection, updating
virus protection. nothing worked. I created a web page on a known good
system, when I took it to my puter on CD I got the same error.
Please help me.
Any suggestions?

Can you open Publisher?

Does the folder where the document is filed have a long file name? More than 256
characters?
What is the complete error?
Do you have a spyware application? Might disable it.
Have you tried opening the file in Safe Mode? The file maybe looking for a
driver.

Thanks for the quick response.
Publisher opens fine. I'm storing to C:/web, so I dont think the path is
mutch trouble. No Spyware. Wierd thing is that I can start a new blank web
document, not changing anything and save it. I still cant open it. Say's
"Cant find file".

Did you try looking in Explorer in the \web folder and seeing what files
are there?

How about try saving the file in a new folder, name it something other than
web... Where are your default publications being saved?

I tried a new folder with no joy. The document is there, I see it in
explorer and the open dialog. The default is mydocuments. I've saved there
too and still cant open the file. I just e-mailed the file to a friend, he
can open it just fine. i'm sooooo confused.
