Can't Open Files or Load Access on New PC

Hi,

No the error message does not *exactly* match those shown in the document
you referenced. The message I get is: "The folder 'C:\Documents and
Settings\Compaq_Owner\My Documents\Excel Files\blah;blah;blah" isn't
accessible. The folder may be located on an unavailable volume or protected
with a password." This also applies to Word and Powerpoint files and
probably Access too but I still have to solve the issue with opening Access
before I can try them.

To refresh...This problem started when I restored files from my old pc to
the new pc. However it restored them to the old, goofy file structure on the
old pc that was a legacy of poor service by a local retailer (national
chain!). I wanted to create a shorter, more logical file structure so copied
the restored folders and files to my new folders. It allowed me to copy them
but then wouldn't let me open them. Can't delete the folder/files either.
And couldn't copy them back to where they were to delete them. Thanks!

If you installed Windows XP update KB885250 "MS05-011: Vulnerability in

Hi, I have Windows XP Home but it came already loaded on the new pc.
Haven't even had the pc for quite one month yet so haven't installed any
operating system updates. I did take a look at the Add/Remove Programs but
saw nothing associated with Windows. Thanks.
