Can't open presentation

I have been working on a PP presentation for weeks. Today I can't open it. It starts to open and then freezes. When I do control, alt, delete it says program not responding. I can open other presentations just not the one I need. I am using PP in Microsoft Office 2000 and my computer is using Windows 98. Can anyone help me? Thanks

Thanks very much Sonia. I tried everything on the page you sent, nothing worked. Eventually I saved it on a CD and tried it on another computer and it worked fine. I don't know why it won't work on this computer when other presentations work fine. But at least I have it back

What version of PowerPoint is on the system where you were able to open it?
And what version of Windows is on that system?

I put together a farewell slideshow for our 5th graders

and 3/4 of the way through the program I had the same
problem. When I did the control alt delete it said not
responding but i canceled and just left it. I came back to
mycomputer about 15 minutes later and it had opened! This
occurred everytime I opened it and it always ended up
opening. Hope this helps.
