Can't print in Landscape mode

K

KThurman

I have tried new printer drivers, different printers, uninstalling and
reinstalling infopath. It used to work fine but now I can select Portrait or
Landscape in page setup, but when I actually print or print preview it only
shows up as portrait. Is there a config file that is messed up? What else
should I try before reinstalling the machine from scratch.
WinXP SP2
MS Office and Infopath 2003

This suddenly started happening on machines in my office also. I wonder if
an update from Microsoft broke this; it used to work fine.

I had IE7 beta on my machine and at beta and RC1 I have this problem after
removing IE7 it is working fine. So this is what happens when you install
beta software.

Great to know. I just hit this wall and was really worried. I'm using office
2007 Beta 2 and IE7 RC1 and I'm still having this problem. Does Microsoft
know about this error. This is a big deal, I designed my form in landscape
because I need the space. Any ideas on a patch or fix without uninstalling
IE7?

Not that I know of. I posted here and search for others but to my knowledge
no one else is having the problem or at least reporting it. I'm not sure how
to report it to microsoft.

There is a beta tool you can download. It's for Longhorn but the Office 2007
Beta site says it's ok to use for office. It's on the Office Beta FAQ's.

I reported my problem but you should report yours too.

I have the same issue on multiple machines. I reported this as well, but I'm
afraid that since they are releasing IE7 gold on Nov 1 a fix will not be made
for quite some time.

The thing to watch for is the announcement that IE 7 will be pushed through
a Windows update and will happen automatically. If it will impact your forms
at all you should look at blocking that update. I know we will have to.

I have noticed the same problem with a couple of users here at my work.
They were using IE 7 and when they tried to print a form in landscape
it would always print in portrait and to the wrong printer. After
discovering this forum I uninstalled IE 7 from their computers and
everything works fine now.

This bug has been fixed now, please refer to the following kb:

Thanks,

I have this Hotfix installed and I am still not able to print in
Landscape. Any ideas.

This isn't a fix, it's just another MS charge. When is SP3 being released to
fix this problem?

Owen

This patch or fix does not exist. Read the support article and then search
for the fix - nothing. Praveen - I challenge you to add the download link to
the hotfix; not the article talking about the hotfix!
