We have multiple profiles set up under Outlook 2000 in corporate/workgroup
mode and we moved our mailbox.pst files to a file server so office staff can
access the various profiles from their individual machine (as long as no one
else has it open). It works fine, but we have run in to a problem with
receiving mail in certain accounts at certain machines. The box is popping
up *constantly* asking for the user name and password for the mail server.
The info is already filled in, even if we check the box to remember the
password it keeps popping up and popping up. But, the strange thing is:
Mary set up Profile X and John set up Profile Y before we moved the
mailbox.pst file to the file server. Mary can receive mail under Profile X
but not Y. John can receive mail under Profile Y but not X. Why is it the
profile they originally set up on their machine works just fine but when
they log on to the other profile they can't receive mail?? Why does the box
always pop up asking for the user name and password? They can view all of
the messages for each profile, the contact list, they can send mail - just
can't receive.
