Can't reinstall word

I believe this is related to the trial version of office i had and then
uninstalled.
I can't reinstall word, window says "cannot open this patch, make sure of
path, that it exist or that it is a genuine windows installer". I get this
same message when I try to uninstall word from Works Suite 2001 Disk or add
remove programs. I need to reinstall word because it's not right at all.

This can be caused by several things, but to correct it you will need
to zap the Windows Installer entry in the Registry.

Obtain the following utility and use it to remove only the reference
to Office and Works, or Word if it came as part of Works Suite. Once
that is complete then you'll need to reinstall Works Suite to point
the Windows Installer to your installation CD:
