Can't Send Messages

I uses Outlook 2003 at home and set it to send and receive email through my office server. If I prepare a message and hit Send, nothing happens. If I hit Send/Receive, I receive all the messages on my office server but even though the box shows that the Send task is completed, the message does not get sent.
