Caption Issue

Currently working with Publisher 2003 Newsletter. I
selected a left to right gradient background. The
photograph in one column has a caption under it. The text
in the caption box has a white background. I want the
caption text to have the same gradient background as the
newsletter. I see now option to do this. Advice is
sought.
