Captions not numbering properly

George

I am working in Word 200 and have over 100 figures in my
document however some captions are incorrectly numbered
(e.g. Figure 28..Figure 30,31 etc. (skips figure 29)) no
matter how many times I update the field or the entire
document. Help is no help, I have no floating objects. Any
ideas?

thanks,
George

If you are using SEQ fields for the figure numbers, then the skipped
number(s) can be caused by tracked changes that have not been accepted.

Thanks for the reply! I am using SEQ fields for the figure
numbers. I do not have the Final View or Final Showing
Markup view buttons on my Reviewing toolbar (not available
through customizing toolbars either). I do have
the "Highlight Changes on Screen" option, I've accepted
all the changes to the document but it doesn't resolve the
issue. I've tried stripping formatting by copying and
pasting text and spaces into Notebook and then re-pasting
into Word but to no resolution either. It's a mystery -
I'd appreciate any other suggestions/ ideas you may have
as well!

thanks,
George

Hi George. This shouldn't be necessary, but try selecting pressing Ctrl+A to select the whole document, then press F9 to update the field codes.
