I am trying to create a catalog in Publisher 2003. I have a catalog that is divided into categories. When the items for a particular category have depleted, I need a the next category of items to start on the next page. Can this be done

I would suggest merging into three separate files, one for each section, and
then joining them together later.

I guess that could be done but I have 80 categories (btw, I am pulling the data from a SQL Server 2000 db) and doing this manually would be a pain. Can this be automated in any way? Is there and SDK for Publisher 2003 maybe

Although there is no SDK (TMK), you could write an add-in in VB or VC that
automated the process.
There is an add-in tutorial at the site in my sig.
