CD/DVD Driver not found

Hi -

I need some help getting my CD/DVD drive to work.
I can't seem to find my e:/ drive when i open 'My computer'. Howevre my CD
drive seems to open and close so it seem like the computer is somewhat
recognizing it. But when I put a CD/DVD in the computer says the drive is not
found.
I am using an IBM Thinkpad R40 laptop.

Please advise.

Try posting in a group for your OS and provide a lot more detail (e.g., when
did this stop working). This group is for Microsoft Office issues.

NB: the fact that your CD has power (opens/closes) has nothing to do with
your OS knowing it's there.
