Cells and Database Fields missing Primary Key

Patty N.

I am using Visio 2003 SP2 and SQL Express 2005. I converted an MS Access
database to a SQL database. I have linked my Visio drawing (Network diagram
for servers) to this database. I set up the Visio drawing to be my primary
input source. I input info into the drawing and then use "Update Database
Record" to update the database. I used the “Database Wizard†to link all the
shapes to the database fields (it's a small database, 2mb, only 15 fields).
Everything was working perfect; I was halfway thru linking all my shapes and
fields.

I was trying to figure out how to add a new shape in Visio that would
automatically populate the database table (I'm new to Visio and SQL). I tried
creating a master shape to attempt this but it didn't work out.

Now when I try to link the rest of my shapes and database fields (the
existing ones, not adding new shapes) with the “Database Wizard,†the Primary
Key field won't show up. It will show up if I use the “Link to Databaseâ€
feature. I have to click on Advanced and put a check mark in the System
Tables box (this box is not checked when I use the Database Wizard).

I have no idea what I did to mess this up. The original half of my Visio
drawing still works with the “Database Wizard†(I went back to check -
relinked using the wizard and it saw all the fields, including my Primary
Key). The second half of my drawing I have to use the “Link to Databaseâ€
feature to get all the fields.

Any ideas of how I can fix this? Thanks for any help.
Patty
