CGM graphics filter

I am exporting illustrations from Adobe Illustrator as CGM. I am unable to
import the CGM file into Word. It doesn't come through correctly. Word help
says to reinstall the graphics filters.

Where are the graphics filters located? I want to ensure that the CGM filter
is indeed available.

Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.

Select Microsoft Office and Click Change. Click the 'Choose advanced
customization' checkbox. Go to Office Shared Features > Convertors and
Filters > Graphics Filters.

That said, you may get a better result exporting the graphics from
Illustrator as GIF or JPG. If you're doing many of these, it's worth
investing a little time experimenting: depending on the graphic, different
file formats and the way they are imported can have a big impact on the
resulting size of the Word document. As a general principle, the less
manipulation you do at the Word end the better (none at all is good) -- ie,
set the graphic to the size and resolution you want to end up with before
exporting.
