Change home page

My site is finished, but now an introduction page is required, as the
opening page in in front of my home page. I have the feeling that it could
take five minutes or five days. Is there a best way to do this ?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The home page should be the introduction. Splash pages simply get in
the way of reaching the content.
