Change interface language on MS Office 2007 Enterprise

T

TFDDK

Hi all,
I have a version of 'MS Office 2007 Enterprise' that apparently has Danish,
German and English language pack included - at least I can find folders
called proof.da, proof.de and proof.en on the installation cd.
I installed the danish version on my laptop but regretted this shortly
after. Does anyone know how to change into english interface? When I
uninstall --> reinstall I am not given any choices - it just reinstalls in
Danish once again..
My wife has an identical MS Office Enterprice 2007 (bought via our company
for home use) and her version is in english, so it must be possible somehow...
Thanks in advance,
BR Thomas

Does your installation CD contain folders called Office.en-us and Word.en-us?

The proof.da, proof.de, and proof.en folders contain Danish, German, and
English dictionary files for features like spell-checking, but they don't
contain files for translating the user interface. Many language versions of
Office 2007 include one or two extra languages for proofing.

If your CD includes other English files, then there are a few steps that you
can follow to get the English files:
1. Go to the Start Menu and click on Microsoft Office / Microsoft Office
Tools / Microsoft Office 2007 Language Settings. If the first tab is called
"Display Language" and English is listed, then you already have a copy of
English Office installed on your machine. Switch to English, click OK, and
reboot your apps.

2. Run Setup from the CD and choose "Custom Installation." One of the tabs
in the Custom Installation should have a list of checkboxes that give you the
option to install an English Interface, if the English UI files are on the
CD. If this works, then retry step 1.

If you find ApplicationName.en-us directories on your CD, but neither of
those options work, reply to this message and I will ask the Office Setup
team about it.

If the CD does not contain ApplicationName.en-us directories, and neither of
those fixes work, then you probably have a Danish-only CD. That would be odd
if your wife and you bought the same product from the same location, though.
In that case, you can buy an inexpensive English language pack from
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/suites/FX102113661033.aspx (English) or
http://office.microsoft.com/da-dk/suites/FX102113661030.aspx (Danish.)

Also, did you change your mind about using the Danish version because of a
problem with it, like poor translations or an annoying bug?

Thanks,
Todd
