Change the way tracked changes and comments look

I have a document which is originally made in word 2000
it has track changes enabled
when i open that document in word 2003 and when I click on save or save as
the numbering system of the document changes
it is changed from a,b,c to 1,2,3 and also it shows as the whole document is
changed and it shows up the track changes bar on all the lines

Check in Tools/Template and Addins whether the checkbox to automatically update
styles is activated. If it is, turn it off.
